Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Łukasz Jankowski, trading as The Flight Monitor (theflightmonitor.com), a sole trader based in Scotland, United Kingdom, at Bo'ness, Scotland, United Kingdom. For any data protection enquiry, contact myesgcheck@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Email address and account — if you create an account or save a price alert. Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a one-time link.
- Saved searches and alerts — route, dates, currency and an optional price threshold, if you save an alert. We need these to check prices and send notifications.
- Price history — prices found for your saved routes. This is data about flights, not about you.
- Newsletter subscription — if you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address, chosen departure airport, consent status (pending/confirmed/unsubscribed — signup uses double opt-in), and where you signed up (e.g. a footer form). We also record each edition sent to you, so we never send the same edition twice and can tell whether it was delivered.
- Payment data — if you buy Premium, the payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we keep only a Stripe customer reference and the date your access expires.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics, Vercel Speed Insights and GoatCounter to count visits and basic events (such as running a search). None of these identify you personally or set tracking cookies.
We do not use any advertising tracking tools (such as Meta Pixel or Google Analytics 4 with advertising signals enabled). If we introduce any in future, they will run only with your consent (e.g. via a cookie banner), and this page will be updated beforehand.

Cookies we do use
Two, both strictly necessary: one keeps you signed in, the other remembers your chosen language. Neither is used for advertising tracking.
Who we share data with
- Stripe — payment processing (US/Ireland)
- Resend — sign-in links, alerts and newsletter delivery (US)
- Vercel — application hosting and traffic analytics (US)
- Neon — database hosting (hosted in the EU, eu-west region)
- GoatCounter — cookie-free traffic analytics
- Our flight data provider — we send the route and dates, never your personal details
Stripe and Resend process data outside the UK/EU (United States). Both rely on recognised UK/EU transfer safeguards (such as the Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses) — details are available in their own privacy policies.
How long we keep data
Saved alerts are kept until you delete them or their departure date passes. Account data is kept until you ask us to delete it. Newsletter subscriptions and send history are kept until you unsubscribe; after unsubscribing we retain only the minimal record that you opted out, to make sure we don't email you again.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict the processing of, port, and object to the processing of your data. To exercise any of these, contact myesgcheck@gmail.com. You may also complain to a supervisory authority — the ICO in the UK (ico.org.uk), or your own national authority if you are in the EU.
Governing law
This policy is governed by the law of Scotland and the United Kingdom.
